Mis Akwede is currently residing in Nantabulilirwa, kiwanga Goma division Mukono municipality. She has lived this life since from child hood at the age of three years. She narrates that her mother died while she was still young and she grew up from the village with her father, at the age of three years, polio attacked her and she ended up in this disability condition.
She did not acquire education in her life, as she grew up in the village with this dis-ability, she was raped and impregnated by a man, she will never forget in her life, the man after impregnating her, he disappeared and up to date he can’t be traced any-where. As a mother, she struggled with her child till now. While still in the village, the brother felt so bad of seeing his sister struggling with the baby, he decided to take her to kireka a nearby town to the capital of Uganda. They stayed in kireka for a while with the brother until he felt grown enough to marry, when he got a wife, misery knocked on Miss. akwede’s door. Mistreatment began since she was disabled and remember she could not help her-self in most cases.
She was abused, not understood at any time and from there she decided to move and struggle on her own. She moved to Nantabulilirwa where she is staying up to today. While in her house, she had people whisper to her as there was a man who was in love with her. She waited until the man approached her, this man impregnated her and she gave birth to a bouncing baby girl and at only 4months, the man told her that he was going to start fishing so that they improve their lives, Miss Akwede waited until today. As we share this story, the child is 11 years old and the father has never shown up since he left when she was 4 months. As if that was not enough, miss Akwede fell in love with another man and he also impregnated her, she gave birth to a baby boy, the father disappeared up to today and the child is 3 years, all these kids of Miss Akwede wants to study though they lack support.
Miss Akwede had a wheel chair which was dismantled by scrap collectors, this was a big blow in her life since her legs were taken and these guys had made her life difficult. Thank God that the Timely God Led club has successfully donated to her a wheel chair with a new tricycle. Miss Akwede had problems of rent and she had arrears of 1 and ½ years but all was cleared by the Timely God Led club and this brought back her relationship with the Lord. The timely God led club has so far given some capital to help her improve the business she has of making mandazi and cassava and chapatti or rolex. We are mobilizing and putting together resources to see that miss Akwede can get a shelter over her head so that she and her children can find where to stay.
